Bossaso (SD) – Reports from Bari region in Puntland say security forces have halted a planned rally in support of the Somali president in that region.

Puntland forces reportedly dispersed a large number of women and children, who were planning to hold the rally.

It is not yet clear why Puntland authorities have dismissed the process of holding the demonstration in Bossaso, the capital of Bari region.

However, this move comes at a time when Puntland’s dispute with the federal government of Somalia has halted all bilateral relations.

Mass demonstration in support of President Mohamed Abdullahi Mohamed’s (Farmajo) speech on the status of Mogadishu took place in districts of Benadir region yesterday.
