Garowe (SD) – Speaker of the Puntland House of Representatives Abdirashid Yusuf Jibril today announced when the administration’s Upper House election will be held.

The announcement followed Puntland government’s release of the list of candidates for the Upper House and the election committee.

“Speaker of the Puntland House of Representatives, Mr. Abdirashid Yusuf Jibril, informs the Federal Electoral Implementation Committee (FEIT), the Puntland Electoral Commission (SEIT), Puntland Upper House Candidates, and all Federal Election Stakeholders that the Upper House Election of the Federal Parliament of Somalia in Puntland will be held on 11/08/2021, on Wednesday, God willing.” Said the statement from parliament.

Adding “We hope everyone will be prepared and everyone plays their role, Good co-operation.”

Somalia regions are in the process of holding elections for the Upper House, with elections taking place in Jubaland and Southwest, where some members of parliament have been elected.
