Quint Partners show support for Somalia’s Territorial Integrity

LONDON (SD) -Delegates from Qatar, Turkey, the United Arab Emirates, the United Kingdom, and the United States – along with representatives from the Federal Government of Somalia, convened in London for the Quint Partners summit, discussing matters concerning the region and Somalia’s support network.

Quint Partners acknowledged the challenges facing the Horn of Africa and called for dialogue and collaboration. They affirmed their commitment to the Federal Government of Somalia and its unity.

The meeting also addressed the ongoing constitutional review process in Somalia. Supporting countries stressed the political significance of reconciliation efforts, particularly recent advancements within the National Security Council framework.

On the security front, allies reaffirmed their support for Somalia’s stability and agreed to bolster security sector reform efforts, including intelligence sharing and training, in line with President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud’s National Security Architecture.

The meeting concluded with an emphasis on the importance of cooperation between the federal government and Somali regional administrations for the success of new operations.

Quint Partners agreed to reconvene for their biannual meeting in Washington later this year.
