Mogadishu (SD) – The US Embassy in Mogadishu has welcomed a meeting between US Ambassador with some of Somalia’s member state leaders who are in the nations Capital for election process talks.
Insiders believe that the arrival of the regional presidents is a great step towards finding a resolution for an agreed upon process that will lead to an election to take place in the country.
The US embassy posted a statement on its Twitter account about a meeting between President Deni and Ambassador Yamamoto.
Another post by the US embassy on Twitter touched on the role of Galmudug state president Ahmed Abdi Kariye (Qoorqoor) as well as the Galmudug community in the talks to resolve ambiguities in electoral issues.
A meeting between the federal government and member states was called off on Thursday, and is expected to open on tomorrow although that’s is unlikely now, due to Ahmed Madobe’s and Qoorqoor both leaving the capital.
