Mogadishu (SD) – Somali government forces have launched a security crackdown in the capital Mogadishu following an increase in killings and explosions in the capital.
Reports say the operation is planned to target a network that is said to be responsible for insecurity in the capital.
Checkpoints have been set up, especially on Mogadishu’s main roads, soldiers were seen questioning the public.
The move comes at a time when in Mogadishu alone, eight people, both soldiers and civilians, were killed yesterday, and two Benadir regional administration officials were also killed last week.
