Senator Samatar strongly criticized the Ankara agreement between the Somali President and Ethiopian PM

MOGADISHU (SD) -Senator Abdi Ismail Samatar, speaking at a press conference in Mogadishu alongside other politicians, strongly criticized the recent agreement between Somali President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud and Ethiopian Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed in Ankara.

He compared it to the earlier agreement signed by Somaliland leader Muse Bihi with Ethiopia.

The senator accused President Hassan Sheikh of attempting to extend his rule by force, waging conflicts against federal member states, and making territorial concessions. He warned that accepting such deals would endanger Somalia’s future.

Other leaders at the event, including former President Sharif Sheikh Ahmed and MP Abdirahman Abdishakur, also criticized Hassan Sheikh’s handling of the diplomatic tensions between Somalia and Ethiopia.
