MOGADISHU (SD) -The Commander of the Somali National Army, Major General Ibrahim Sheikh Mohiuddin, along with U.S. military officials, are visiting the Middle Shabelle region.

Accompanying the commander are Colonel David Haskell, the Commander of U.S. Special Operations, and other officials.

Major General Ibrahim Sheikh Muxudiin held a meeting with Somali National Army officers stationed in the region.

The meeting focused on strategies to clear Al-Shabaab from areas they still control in the country.

The Somali National Army commander instructed the officers to prepare for operations against Al-Shabaab, with the support of residents ready to fight the militants.

The visiting U.S. officials welcomed the operation and expressed their readiness to support the fight against Al-Shabaab.
