Mogadishu (SD) – The Somali National Army (SNA) has carried out an operation in villages under Barire district in Lower Shabelle region, capturing Al-Shabaab militants planting explosives in the outskirts of Barire.
The commander of the 143th Somali National Army, Col. Ahmed Hassan Siyad, confirmed that the Somali National Army (SNA) in an operation in Barire captured explosives planted by al-Shabaab militants on the outskirts of the town.
Col. Ahmed Hassan Siyad also said that the ground forces removed other explosives planted by al-Shabaab militants in villages in the Lower Shabelle region.
The latest Somali military operation in Lower Shabelle region killed 13 Al-Shabaab militants, according to military officials.
