Mogadishu January 02, 2023 (SD) – A meeting held by the Somali Parliament today discussed issues such as a bill submitted by the Somali government and the situation in Lasanod.
Today’s parliamentary session, chaired by Speaker Sheikh Adan Madobe discussed a tabled financial sanctions bill. After a brief reading, the MPs pointed out errors in the bill and asked the Ministry of Finance to rewrite the bill.
The legislative initiative aims at the monies given as taxes by businesses to Al Shabaab militants.
On the other hand, the Speaker of the Parliament suggested that a Parliamentary Committee be set up to investigate the situation in the town of Lasanod, the speaker did not give details of his proposal however, the MPs accepted the proposal.
