Mogadishu (SD) – His Excellency Mohamed Hussein Roble, Prime Minister of the Federal Republic of Somalia, announcing the implementation of the Electoral Agreements and Procedures, stressed the importance of every Somali citizen playing his or her role in the electoral process.
The Prime Minister outlined his commitment to holding elections which reflects on the country’s progress, with the Government submitting to the National Institutions a memorandum for the dissemination and implementation of the 2020/2021 elections, based on electoral agreements approved by the National Consultative Assembly.
“The Federal Government of Somalia, in view of the importance of fair and transparent elections in the country, would like to inform all the various national electoral bodies to perform their duties in accordance with the agreed electoral procedures.” Said the PM.
Prime Minister Roble thanked the President of the Federal Republic of Somalia, HE Mohamed Abdullahi Farmajo, for his concessions and commitment to reaching an agreement on electoral issues in the last agreement reached in October in accordance with the 2020/2021 Electoral Process.
The Prime Minister also thanked the Heads of member States and the Governor of Benadir for their commitment and flexibility in reaching a consensus.
Finally, Prime Minister Mohamed Hussein Roble commended the Speakers and Members of both Houses of Parliament for their prompt legislation and the fulfillment of their constitutional obligations.
