Mogadishu (SD) – Somali policemen killed two civilians after they have opened fire on residents home following a soppossed violation of the imposed coronavirus curfew.
The victims were reportedly sitting outside of their home near the Ministry of Post in Bondhere district in Mogadishu.
The police intended to enforce nighttime curfew starting 7:00pm local time have allegedly shot the civilians and escaped the scene.
There are security tensions and public anger in Mogadishu towards the Federal Government due to Police Brutality, leading to protesters demanding justice.
Some of the protesters burned tires on the streets, demanding justices for slain civilians.
Somali police chief confirms that the police forces arrested the policeman who killed the young man and wounded a girl. The confirmation was made during tonight’s COVID-19 update in Mogadishu.
Protesters have marched through the capital Mogadishu last night to demand justice for the civilians killed by the policeman in Mogadishu’s Bondhere district.
