MOGADISHU (SD) -The leader of the Wadajir Party and a member of Somalia’s federal Parliament, Abdurrahman Abdishakur Warsame, has criticized President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud for traveling to Ethiopia, amid political disputes between the two countries.
Abdirahman Abdishakur Warsame described President Hassan Sheikh’s decision as a hasty one that was not carefully considered.
Abdirahman Abdishakur said that the government should have reduced diplomatic relations with Ethiopia and should have lowered the status of the delegation sent to the AU meeting in Addis Ababa.
He said that the Somali parliament, which should have asked the president questions about his trip, failed to do so, saying instead they are mired in amending the country’s constitution.
The MP’s criticism comes as Somalia’s President Hassan Sheikh Mohamoud is among the African leaders in Addis to participate in the 37th AU Summit.
