BAIDOA (SD) -There was an airstrike in parts of the Lower Shabelle region of the South West state that targeted Al-Shabaab officers, The attack occurred between the towns of Haawaay and the Sablaale district.
Reports indicate that the operation successfully hit a facility where Al-Shabaab commanders were stationed. It was also reported that the officials were in a meeting at the time of the attack.
As of now, there has been no official statement from the Somali government or Al-Shabaab regarding this recent military action in the Shabeellaha Hoose region.
This recent operation follows a previous attack in the Jubba region, where Somali National Army forces, along with U.S. military forces, targeted Al-Shabaab, resulting in the death of at least ten militants and the destruction of a key base.
Somalia is still undergoing heavy operations against the Al-Shabaab group, in which the local people are participating, and large areas have been liberated.
