Jilib (SD) – Al-Shabaab militants in Jilib district of Middle Jubba region have presented a drone that crashed in an area controlled by Al-Shabaab.
The drone was equipped with cameras and other equipment, making it a spy drone, crashed in Afmadow district in Lower Juba region.
Al-Shabaab officials said the aircraft was involved in espionage, and belonged to the United States.
Al Shabaab has not commented on how the drone was shot down.
The United States has not yet commented on al-Shabab’s claims on the down drone.
US warplanes have been bombing al-Shabab-held areas for years, killing numerous senior al-Shabab officials and fighters.
