MUDUG (SD) -Reports coming from Mudug region indicate that a fierce battle erupted today in the area between Jeex Jeex and Caad, located in the southern part of Mudug region.

The conflict involved the Somali National Army (SNA) and local forces against the militant group Al-Shabaab.

During the conflict, the Commander of the 18th Division of the Gorgor Unit, Colonel Abdi Mohamed Suulnuuge, was reported to have been killed.

The news also says that the battle that took place today in the south of Mudug region has caused heavy losses on both sides, and it is difficult to know the actual losses of Al-Shabaab members who fought with the National Army and local militias in the area.

Colonel Suulnuuge had previously led the fight against Al Shabab in Galmudug and Hirshabelle regions.
