Mogadishu June 14, 2023 (SD) -The Minister of Commerce and Industry, Mr. Jibril Abdurashid Haji, held a meeting with the Ambassador of China to Somalia, Mr. Fei Shengchao, and discussed the bilateral relations between the two countries and ways to enhance cooperation in the fields of commerce and economy.

Both sides emphasized the importance of mutual collaboration in promoting trade between Somalia and China, particularly in facilitating investment opportunities for Somali and Chinese businesses to create economic advancements and foster the development of the country’s financial sectors.

Minister Jibril highlighted the efforts made by the Somali government to improve and facilitate trade, as well as the initiatives taken to enhance the business environment in the country.

Furthermore, he expressed Somalia’s readiness to attract global investors to contribute to the economic revitalization of the nation and to establish mutually beneficial trade relations with other countries.
