Somalia: Banadir Officials accused of collaborating with al Shabab

MOGADISHU (SD) -Today, the military court in Mogadishu started hearing the trial of 11 officials from the Hodan District Administration in Banadir Region who are accused of corruption.

The accused individuals, including three women, held positions as the District Commissioner and Deputy District Commissioner within Hodan District Administration.

The charges against them are related to embezzlement of public funds and involvement in corrupt activities, including extortion and illegal detentions.

The Attorney General’s Office has accused the defendants of collaborating with a subversive group and has requested the military court to impose the maximum penalties on them since they were involved in crimes such as assassinations and bombings that took place in Mogadishu.
