Mogadishu (SD) – Somalia’s Council of candidates have been rejected President Mohammed Abdullahi Farmajo’s request for the African Union to mediate Somali politics.
The candidates have strongly condemned president’s attempt to side step the country’s election agreement on September 17th.
The presidential candidates also reiterated their support for the September 17th agreement, and called on the former president to dismiss the April 12 term extension by the parliament.
President Farmajo has requested that the AU seek African solution to Somalia’s political impasse.
