GAROWE (SD)-Former Presidents of Somalia, Mohamed Abdullahi Farmajo and Sharif Sheikh Ahmed held a meeting in the city of Garowe, the capital of Puntland State, where they issued a statement addressing the political situation in the country.
The two former presidents directed a message to the speakers and members of both Houses of the Federal Parliament of Somalia, urging them to refrain from any actions that could undermine the unity and solidarity of the Somali people, emphasizing adherence to the legal framework outlined in the country’s constitution.
Farmajo and Sharif also urged the President of Somalia, Hassan Sheikh Mohamud, not to proceed with the constitutional amendments, suggesting that he continue efforts to ensure compliance with the rule of law and the preservation of the constitution he swore to uphold.
