MOGADISHU (SD) – The Ministry of Defense of the Federal Government of Somalia has provided detailed information on the recent losses incurred in the latest military operations that took place in some regions of Galmudug, Hirshabelle, and Jubaland.
In an official statement released by the Ministry, it was revealed that the most recent military operation resulted in the death of 130 Al-Shabaab militants, including both insurgents and high-ranking officers.
The statement further confirmed that the latest military action successfully reclaimed vast territories, particularly in the Mudug and Galgaduud regions of Galmudug, from the control of Al-Shabaab. The areas were described as being strategic and vital for the terrorist group.
The Ministry’s report also highlighted that the government forces involved in the operations seized weapons and military equipment, and they destroyed various military bases and hideouts used by the extremist group.
