MOGADISHU (SD) – The President of the Federal Republic of Somalia, Hassan Sheikh Mohamud, has signed into law legislation by the Federal Parliament of Somalia nullifying the agreement between the government of Ethiopia and the Somaliland Administration.

The Members of both Houses of the Federal Parliament of Somalia have endorsed the legislation.

The President praised the representatives in the Lower and Upper Houses for their historic role in defending the unity of the Somali territory, including land, sea, and air.

President Hassan Sheikh Mohamoud highlighted that this legislation holds the official and solemn stance of the Federal Republic of Somalia. It conveys a resolute message to anyone attempting to compromise the land, sea, and airspace of the Somali people.

The President of Somalia called on the Somali people and their leaders to strengthen their unity at this historical juncture and separate internal political issues and the fateful issues that would affect future generations.
