Somalia: President elect holds talks with regional State leaders

MOGADISHU (SD) – Somalia’s newly elected 10th President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud has been holding regular meetings in Mogadishu since his election, with politicians and various government and regional officials.

Hassan Sheikh Mohamud, the president of Somalia’s Federal Government has on Sunday met with some of the regional administrations in the country.

The Presidents Abdiaziz Laftagareen of Southwest, Ahmed Qoor-Qoor of Galmudug, Ahmed Madobe of Jubbaland, Said Deni of Puntland, and Ali Gudlawe, the president of Hirshabelle, paid a courtesy calls to the newly elected President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud, and discussed a number of issues related to the country’s current political situation.

The President of Puntland State of Somalia, who assisted in the presidential election, also met with Hassan Sheikh Mohamud, the two are said to be discussing the formation of the new government.

The president-elect is expected to hold on going talks with the country’s political stakeholders in the coming days.
