Ankara October 01, 2023 (SD) – The President of Somalia, Hassan Sheikh Mohamud, strongly condemned the recent explosion that occurred in the city of Ankara, the capital of Turkey.

President Hassan stated that he and the Somali people stand in solidarity with the Government and the people of Turkey.

The President added that such acts of terrorism only target innocent civilians and called for unity in the fight against terrorism.

The explosion was carried out by two individuals and occurred near the Turkish Parliament building in Ankara and resulted in injuries to two police officers, according to the Turkish Interior Minister.

The blast site is located close to several government ministries and the Turkish Parliament, and it is expected that President Recep Tayyip Erdogan will address the nation today, as reported by Turkish media.
