Beledweyne November 19, 2022 (SD) – The President of the Federal Government of Somalia, Hassan Sheikh Mohamud, with a large delegation was today warmly received in the Mahaas district of Hiran region and Baxdo of Galmudug.

The Somali president’s delegation was welcomed by regional officials, the army, and local people.

The purpose of President Hassan’s trip to the two districts today is said to observe the situation and the aftermath of the war against Al-Shabaab.

President Hassan Sheikh spoke to the people living in the districts of Mahaas, Baxdo, and the armed forces, praising their achievements in the war against Al-Shabaab, adding that the government stands and supports the local people who have decided to Al Shabaab.

President Hassan listened to a report related to the needs of the people living in those districts promised that the Somali government will deliver government services soon.

The President of Somalia visit is part of various planned trips to different areas that have been cleared of Al Shabaab fighters in Hiran, Galgadud and Middle Shabelle regions.
