GAROWE (SD) -The Minister of Information of the Puntland Administration, Mohamud Aided Dirir, has opposed the Puntland Parliament’s one-year extension.

The Minister said that the President’s Decree or Court decision will completely dissolve the current Parliament and the selection of new MPs will begin.

The minister also pointed out that if the members of Parliament reject the decision to dissolve, then the lawmakers will be prosecuted.

The news from Puntland’s Minister of Information comes at a time when the Puntland Parliament has voted to extend its term by one year, a move that contradicts a presidential decree to go to the polls on January 2024.
