Somalia reopens domestic flights

Mogadishu (SD) – At today’s Somalia Cabinet meeting, chaired by Deputy Prime Minister Mr. Mahdi Mohamed Guled (Khadar), approved the reopening of domestic flights to facilitate the flow of public travel.

After a lengthy debate, the council unanimously agreed to restart domestic flights on Sunday, July 05, 2020, with one regional airline departing each day.

The council meeting, on the other hand, ratified the Somali Maritime Transport Agreement and the Trademarks Act.

The Council also ratified the bilateral trade agreement between Somalia and Sudan, the Convention on the Establishment of a Joint Security Committee between Somalia and Qatar, and the Reconciliation of the Diplomatic Institute between Somalia and Qatar. Political Consultation on issues of mutual concern between Somalia and Qatar.
