Somalia signs EU-Africa cooperation agreement

BRUSSELS (SD) -The Federal Government of Somalia has today, signed a cooperation agreement between the countries of the Horn of Africa and the European Union (EU).

Somalia’s Ambassador to the Benelux countries and the European Union, Ambassador Yunis Yasin Hashi (Ooga-Cadde), signed the agreement at a ceremony held at the African Union Headquarters in Brussels.

This agreement will involve a fully-fledged legal framework between Africa and the European Union, addressing various aspects such as peace and security, societal progress, economic development, human rights, and other related issues.

Over the past few years, the Somali government has actively participated in international organizations and global institutions, strengthening its ties with the international community and benefiting in various ways from joining such organizations.
