Mogadishu August 26, 2023 (SD) – The Somali military forces, with a successful operation, have managed to liberate residents who were under the control of Al-Shabaab in the town of Ceel-buur, located in the Galgaduud region.

According to local resources, the military forces recently entered several neighborhoods in the historic town of Ceelbuur, and they are currently securing various districts within the town.

The troops swiftly moved into Ceel-buur after Al-Shabaab militants had orchestrated attacks and explosions. It’s reported that the military took control of the city and prevented the Al Shabab attackers from fleeing.

The local population of Ceel-buur has long suffered from the presence of Al-Shabaab, and they have faced various difficulties.

The military’s arrival has brought about relief, as they have initiated thorough security operations, managing to dislodge Al-Shabaab from the city.
