Somalia to Build a Dam in Hirshabelle

JOWHAR (SD) -The Deputy Prime Minister of the Federal Government of Somalia, Salah Ahmed Jama, has inaugurated the Sabuun Dam project in Jowhar, the capital of Hirshabelle State. This project is set to improve the lives of over 300,000 Somali farmers significantly.

Saalax stated that implementing this project will benefit the citizens living in the region and provide a solution for irrigating farms and mitigating the issues caused by floods and river overflows.

The Deputy Prime Minister expressed his gratitude to the governments and organizations that contributed to the realization of the Sabuun project. He highlighted that the Federal Government of Somalia is committed to enhancing the cultivation and productivity of Somali farmers.

The project, jointly inaugurated by the Deputy Prime Minister and the President of Hirshabelle State, was attended by ministers from the federal government, officials from the state government, and representatives from the United Nations.
