Somalia to represent African Union at the UN

Somalia has taken over the rotating chairmanship of the Office of the African Union Mission to the United Nations. The office is responsible for overseeing the comprehensive mandate and interests of the delegations of the African Union countries at the UN.

The Ambassador of Somalia to the United Nations, Amb. Abukar Baale, who assumed the position, will be delivering a speech at the headquarters of the United Nations on behalf of the African Union members at the UN.

Coordinating diplomatic relations with the Permanent Mission of Africa to the United Nations is the task of the Permanent Mission of the African Union to the United Nations.

Also, he will represent the African Union at the United Nations as well as develop and maintain effective relations between the AU.
