Somalia: Uganda Boasts about Aden Ade’s security

MOGADISHU (SD) -The Ugandan government said it is proud of providing security at Somalia’s main airport.

Brig Gen Anthony Mbuusi Lukwago, the commander of the Ugandan forces in Somalia, said without security efforts by the Ugandan forces, the Aden Adde airport would not have developed as it is today.

Brigadier General Lukwago added, that the current security measures at Aden Adde Airport, resulted in the airport conducting more than 8,533 international flights, 18,166 domestic flights, and 1,686 relief operations.

The Ugandan Minister of Defense and Veterans Affairs, Vincent Ssempijja, visited Ugandan troops stationed in Somalia and praised the soldiers serving in the African Union Mission in Somalia (ATMIS) for their commitment.

However, two years ago, member countries of the United Nations Security Council, including the US, China, France, Germany, and the UK, stated that Ugandan and AMISOM troops were withdrawing from Somalia in line with the objectives set.
