Mogadishu (SD) – The United Nations and other members of the international community who support Somalia, expressed strong concern about Attempts to bring a “flawed” bill dealing with sex crimes to Somalia’s parliament.
The United Nations Office in Somalia has expressed skepticism about the legitimacy of the bill, which parliament refused to debate today, saying it would allow child marriage and violate international conventions.
A statement from the United Nations Office in Somalia also said they had conveyed their concerns to Speaker of Parliament Mohamed Mursal.
