Mogadishu (SD) – At least 10 people have been confirmed dead and 18 others injured as a car bomb exploded at Somalia’s 27th Battalion military base in Mogadishu.
So far six soldiers were confirmed killed in the blast, the number may be higher as the car bomb detonated deep into the camp, witnesses say.
Al-Shabaab has claimed responsibility for today’s bombing of the military base behind the xisbiga headquarters and Stadium Mogadishu.
There was no immediate information from government security forces on todays suicide attack at one of their bases in the capital.
The attack happened at a time when government troops are blocking major streets in the capital and soldiers can be seen at almost all of the major intersections.
