Mogadishu (SD) – In a press release the Somali Ministry of Health and Social Welfare sounded the alarm on the fact that the Coronavirus is spreading in the country, especially in the capital, Mogadishu.

“The ministry is confirming today four new cases of COVID-19 infection, bringing the total number of cases of COVID-19 infection in The country to 12 cases.” Said the statement.

The ministry’s statement indicated that the community is not aware of the disease spreading through the city.

“The ministry confirms that the outbreak is spreading in the capital through community transmission.” Said the statement.

The ministry of health confirmed that two health workers were among those diagnosed with Covid-19.

The health ministry says it is searching for all the people who had came into contact with the newly diagnosed people.

Mogadishu has seen its first Covid-19 death in the city yesterday.
