Somalia’s member states support Garowe conference

Mogadishu (SD) – Somalia’s regional Presidents of Hirshabelle, Galmudug, and South West state have issued a joint statement in response to the recent conference in Garowe by the presidents of Puntland and Jubaland.

The three president’s statement was in support of the Garowe conference between Said Deni and Ahmed Madobe.


The Presidents welcomed the Puntland-Jubaland consultative meeting held in Garowe on the 25th and 26th of this month, and commended the two governments for agreeing to contribute to the smooth running of the Dhusamareb-3 conference.

The leaders welcome a meeting between the federal government and the two regional governments of Puntland and Jubaland, in order to resolve any misunderstandings, in order to begin preparations for timely elections.

Hirshabelle, Galmudug, and Southwest stand ready to contribute their ideas and efforts in any effort to reach a comprehensive understanding and find solutions to the challenges ahead.

The leaders thank all Somalis for their support and encouragement to find a lasting solution to the crisis.

The leaders thanked members of the international community for their support to the Somali people in the areas of security, social affairs and development.
