Mogadishu (SD) – Somalia’s Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Mohamed Abdirizak Mohamud, today received in Mogadishu, the Special Representative of the Chairperson of the African Union Commission for Somalia, Ambassador Francisco Caetano Madeira.
The Minister discussed with the AU Representative security issues, the upcoming elections, AMISOM’s mandate and Somalia’s Transition Plan (STP) as the only way to achieve stability, security and state-building.
The meeting reportedly focused on the latest developments in the country and the need to work together.
The two leaders discussed ways to unite efforts to support the transition process in Somalia based on improving the readiness of the Somali army units.
