MOGADISHU (SD) -A communique has been released following today’s conclusion of Somalia’s 9th National Consultative Council meetings held in the capital city of Mogadishu.
The forum focused on several key issues, including security stabilization efforts, countering Al-Shabab insurgency, constitutional review and amendment, and other constitutional matters.
The communique, comprising three main points, highlighted the agreements reached among the parties, including Enhancing security and combating terrorism, Accelerating the constitutional review process and strengthening democratization, and Humanitarian issues.
The Council agreed to accelerate the implementation of previous agreements and urged the federal parliament to expedite the ratification of the existing constitutional amendments, while also acknowledging the need for the National Consultative Council agreements to be incorporated into the constitutional review process.
