Somalia’s National Security Council discusses Ammunition Control Measures

MOGADISHU (SD) -The President of Somalia, Mr. Hassan Sheikh Mohamud, chaired the National Security Council meeting attended by various heads of security agencies.

The meeting discussed intensifying operations against Al-Shabaab terrorists, enhancing the implementation of the ATMIS withdrawal, and advancing comprehensive plans for national security upon the withdrawal of AMISOM forces.

The President, in a briefing on national security enhancement plans, emphasized the need for security agencies to intensify efforts in implementing the Weapons and Ammunition Control Measures.

He noted that the success achieved in lifting the arms embargo was attributed to the effective implementation of the plan to disrupt the supply of weapons to armed groups and safeguard the weapons of the Armed Forces.
