BORAMA September 04, 2022 (SD) – Somaliland’s immigration force today started arresting what it calls Illegal foreigners in Borama, the capital of Awdal region.

The arrested migrants, mostly Ethiopians, were reportedly taken to an unknown detention centre in the city and were being deported back to their home countries.

Somaliland has in previous years deported migrants from neighboring countries including Somalis.

The Somaliland immigration department has been gearing up for the last few months to expel foreigners from the country.

Civil organizations have previously condemned and opposed saying that such deportations are not in accordance with the law of the country.
