Somaliland Cabinet responses to Somalia electing MP’s from Somaliland

Hargeisa (SD) – The 59th Session of the Somaliland Cabinet meeting held on video conference was presided over by the President of the Republic of Somaliland, HE Muse Bihi Abdi with the Vice President of the Republic of Somaliland, HE Abdirahman Abdullahi Ismail (Saylici). They heard reports from the COVID-19 Committee, from the Prevention of Violence committee in Fadhigab and the Ministry of Planning.

The Prevention of Violence committee in Fadhigab reported that the peace talks in that region with the clans are at a good place and mediations would end soon. On the other hand, the Vice President of the Republic of Somaliland and Chairman of the Committee on COVID-19, reported on the committee’s accomplishments, stating that the mandate was well-received and carried out many important tasks.

Also, the Minister of Planning and National Development told the council that Somaliland is implementing international projects, and pointed out that there are agencies in the country who are trying to carry out similar projects under the name of Somalia, which violates the sovereignty of the Republic of Somaliland.

Finally, the Cabinet of the Republic of Somaliland assures the international community, the African Union, the Intergovernmental Authority on Development (IGAD) and all stakeholders of peace and development in the Horn of Africa that the letter from Hamar, mentioned in the so-called parliamentary election of the people. representing Somaliland territories is an act of aggression.
