HARGEISA- (SD) Somaliland’s General Command of the Armed Forces in Hargeisa held a ceremony to mark the 28th anniversary of the establishment of the Armed Forces 28 years ago.
The ceremony was attended by Somaliland President Muse Bihi Abdi, Minister of Defense Abdiqani Mohamud Ateye, Commander of the Armed Forces Major General Nuh Ismail Taani and senior government and military officials.
On the other hand, military officials from the governments of Ethiopia and Djibouti, as well as the commanders of the police, air, presidential, maritime, and other officials attended the ceremony. Many British trainers were also present at the event.
Djiboutian Police Chief Colonel Abdullahi Abdi, speaking on behalf of the Djiboutian delegation, praised the Somaliland military and described it as a dignified force, congratulating them on their anniversary.
Also, Speaking on behalf of the Ethiopian delegation, General Mohamed Haji of the Somali Regional State commended the Republic of Somaliland and its forces for the progress they have made in various areas, as well as the good cooperation between the forces of neighboring countries.
President Bihi congratulated the troops on their anniversary and noted their crucial role in Somaliland in terms of security and state-building.
Various officers who attended the ceremony, congratulated the 28-year-old military personnel.
