Somaliland Health Minister meets with WHO representative

Hargeisa (SD) – Somaliland Minister of Health Omar Ali Abdullahi (Omar Badde) today received the Somalia’s World Health Organization’s representative Dr Sk Md Mamunur Rahman Mali.

The Minister was accompanied by the Director General of the Ministry and officials from the Ministry, he updated the WHO delegation and discussed the monitoring and rate of COVID-19 Infection in the country.

The meeting took place at the Hargeisa General Hospital, were the delegation discussed ways to further accelerate the ongoing medical activities at the General Hospital and the need for further monitoring of the Covid-19 epidemic impacts.

The delegation inspected various departments of Hargeisa General Hospital, and heard various reports from doctors and management of the areas they inspected.

The Minister commended the staff of the General Hospital for their dedicated work in the field of health, and urged them to serve the community in solidarity.

Its not yet fully known the effects Covid-19 had on Somaliland, the authorities recently lifted all restrictions in the country despite the resurgence of the virus.
