Hargeisa (SD) – The Somaliland government has not yet fulfilled its promise to have the national broadcaster report on opposition parties criticism on the government.

A recent press conference held in Hargeisa by politicians including Mohamud Hashi Abdi, criticized the leadership of President Bihi, but it was not broadcasted on Somaliland National Television and Radio Hargeisa.

Wadani part leader Hirsi Ali H. Hassan, also held a press conference in Hargeisa, criticizing Somaliland government. His speech was not broadcasted on Radio Hargeisa and SNLTV.

Somaliland’s deputy minister on information has last month announced that the national broadcaster will equally report on all national news.

Not only does the national broadcaster cover on opposition news, but the ministry of information is accused of muzzling independent media outlets.
