Hargeisa (SD) – The Somaliland National Electoral Commission (NEC) has today received a delegation of ambassadors from the European Union, Sweden and the UK.

The delegation, led by EU Ambassador Nicolas Berlanga, was accompanied by Swedish Ambassador Staffan Tillander and the Head of UK House in Somaliland Stuart Brown, the parties discussed the election process in the country.

The delegation and the commission discussed ways to complete any of the outstanding obstacles to the country municipal and parliamentary elections.

The electoral commission and the delegation also discussed Somaliland’s ongoing electoral process and strengthening of the international community’s support for Somaliland’s democratization and electoral process.

The delegation led by the EU Ambassador and Somaliland’s electoral commission did not brief the press after their meeting.
