HARGEISA (SD)-The Somaliland National Electoral Commission (NEC) held a meeting yesterday with the Ethics and Conduct Committee of the Media. During the meeting, the Committee emphasized the importance of media adhering to journalistic ethics and integrity.

The Ethics and Conduct Committee, which oversees election-related media activities, urged the media in Somaliland to avoid spreading false or unverified information regarding election matters, specifically those attributed to the National Electoral Commission.

Additionally, the committee called on Somaliland media to ensure the accuracy of the news they report and to rely solely on the official statements from the Electoral Commission when covering election-related topics.

Somalilanders go to the polls tomorrow, following a long delay Presidential and Political Associations Elections.
