Taipei (SD) – Taiwan’s Minister of Foreign Affairs and Somaliland’s Representative to Taiwan Amb Mohamed Haji Omar, were present and delivered speeches at the opening ceremony of the Somaliland office in Taiwan.

The president of Somaliland Muse Bihi Abdi, who attended the event via video conference, also addressed the opening ceremony.

Taiwan has previously opened a representative office in Somaliland.
Relations between Taiwan and Somaliland have angered China and Somalia, both Somaliland and Taiwan insisted as independent countries establishing a fruitful diplomatic relationship.
