HARGEISA (SD) – A press release recently issued by the Waddani opposition party in Somaliland addressed the agreement between the President of Somaliland, Muse Bihi, and the Prime Minister of Ethiopia, Abiy Ahmed.
Waddani’s press release stated that there are conflicting agreements that are not known to the opposition parties and the legislative councils of Somaliland, which have been made with the federal government of Somalia and the government of Ethiopia.
In their statement, Waddani emphasized their commitment to preserving the sovereignty and unity of Somaliland, and they expressed concern about any agreements made without the knowledge and approval of the relevant institutions.
Waddani concluded by urging President Muse Bihi to reconsider any agreements with the federal government of Somalia and the government of Ethiopia, emphasizing the importance of consulting with all relevant stakeholders and legal bodies in Somaliland.
