Hargeisa (SD) – Somaliland’s National Parties Dialogue Committee convened today in Hargeisa under the chairmanship of the Vice President of the Republic of Somaliland Mr. Abdirahman Saylici, Eng. Faisal Ali Warabe, and Mr. Abdirahman Irro.

The purpose of the meeting of the National Parties of the Republic of Somaliland was to further accelerate the work of implementing the upcoming joint elections of the House of Representatives and Local Councils.

The three National Parties held a debate this morning on how the parties can come up with the same criteria for the selection of candidates for the House of Representatives and Local Councils in accordance with the Electoral Laws and Party Rules.

The three National Parties did not release any of their discussion on the subject or what their positions are on the matter.

The Parties also did not include their discussion on how to resolve the parliamentary seat sharing concerns of some regions in the country.
