Somaliland President Attends 27th Anniversary of the National Army

Hargeisa (SD) – The President of the Republic of Somaliland, Muse Bihi Abdi, today attended the 27th Anniversary of the Establishment of the Somaliland Military in Hargeisa, the capital of Somaliland.

The President paid a brief visit to the Bir-Jeex military base, which is home to a well-equipped military hospital, and was greeted by a contingent of the Somaliland National Army at the Army Headquarters and proceeded to a heavily decorated venue dedicated to the 27th anniversary celebrations.

In a grand ceremony to mark the anniversary, the president was joined by ministers, and commanders of the armed forces, parliamentarians, politicians, officials and diplomats from neighboring countries and other countries who have ties with Somaliland, leaders of the three national parties Kulmiye, UCID and Wadani and many other dignitaries.

The Commander of the Somaliland National Army, Major General Nuh Ismail Taani, who spoke at the ceremony, congratulated the Somaliland National Army, describing the various stages of the establishment of the country’s military, the hardships that the nation has gone through in their construction and the progress made during their existence.

The President of the Republic of Somaliland, and Commander-in-Chief of the Somali National Army, Muse Bihi Abdi, sent his best wishes to all members of the armed forces. adding the people have reached a point where they are imitating the national army’s self-sacrifice and patriotism.

“The country is in this year and the year before that Somaliland took your advice and ended the conflict and united all for the development and peace of the country. Adding that “It is also a second victory that all parties and politicians are united in the development of the nation and peace and have removed all political missteps,” said President Muse Bihi Abdi.

Somaliland forces have been described as having made the most significant progress in all of Somaliland’s governmental institutions.
