Hargeisa (SD) – The President of the Republic of Somaliland, Muse Bihi Abdi, congratulated the newly elected Speaker and his two deputies of the Somaliland’s House of Representatives.

President Muse Bihi Abdi, received the new members at the presidential palace minutes after the election, praying for the new speaker and his deputies, and congratulated the leaders who presided over the session of the House.

“I congratulate the new parliament and wish them all the best in their future national work. I congratulate the six candidates for the speakership in the new parliament. I also congratulate the elders who presided over the process today, including the Speaker of the House of Elders, the Chairman of the Supreme Court and the former Speaker of Parliament, for the way they managed the session.” Said President Bihi.

The President declared that day was a day of victory for Somaliland, and that the enemy was saddened by the victory and the cooperation that had taken place.

President Muse Bihi Abdi, underlined that the success belonged to all Somalilanders and cannot be claimed by any party or individual, congratulating the newly elected Speaker and the other MPs who contested for the seat in a beautiful and democratic manner.

Abdirizak Khalif Ahmed, has been elected as the new Speaker of the House of Representatives, Said Mire Farah Girre was elected as the first deputy speaker of the house and Ali Hamud Jibril was elected as the second deputy speaker of the House of Representatives of the Republic of Somaliland.
